Market Maker Model (MMXM): How the ICT Buy and Sell Models Work
The Market Maker Model (MMXM) is an Inner Circle Trader (ICT) price action trading framework describing how price moves away from an original consolidation, potentially reverses at a significant liquidity or higher-timeframe level, and then returns toward earlier price zones. It includes the bullish Market Maker Buy Model (MMBM) and bearish Market Maker Sell Model (MMSM). MMXM is part of ICT trading and Smart Money Concepts (SMC). It helps traders interpret price movements but does not prove that institutional market makers deliberately control them.

Breaker Block in Trading: What It Is and How to Trade It
A breaker block is a failed order block that has flipped sides. Price first sweeps liquidity, then pushes through the order block, and the same zone later acts as resistance where it once gave support, or as support where it once gave resistance. The breaker block idea comes from ICT (Inner Circle Trader) and is part of smart money concepts (SMC). Teachers do not all agree on the exact rules, so this guide sticks to one definition from start to finish.

Elliott Wave Theory: Patterns, Rules and How Traders Use It
Elliott Wave theory is a technical analysis method, developed by Ralph Nelson Elliott in the 1930s, which says market prices move in repeating waves driven by crowd psychology. In a rising market, the theory expects a five wave move with the trend followed by a three wave move against it, and traders use that repeating pattern to judge where a market may sit in its cycle.

Smart Money Concept (SMC): What It Is and How to Trade It
Smart Money Concepts (SMC) is a price action trading framework that uses market structure, liquidity, order blocks and fair value gaps to identify potential trading opportunities. It aims to interpret how institutional activity may influence price movements in financial markets, helping traders recognize possible trend continuations and reversals. SMC does not directly reveal institutional orders. Instead, traders use observable price patterns to develop a market bias, plan entries and exits, and manage trading risk.

Order Block in Trading: What It Is and How to Trade It
An order block is a price zone on a chart, marked by the last opposite candle before an impulsive move, where institutional traders are believed to have placed large orders. When price returns to that zone, traders watch it as a potential support or resistance area and use it to plan entries, stop losses and targets. Order blocks come from smart money concepts (SMC) and were popularised through the Inner Circle Trader (ICT). For intermediate to advanced retail traders in forex and CFD markets, understanding how to mark and validate these zones can add structure to trade selection and risk management. An order block covers a band of prices from the candle high to the candle low, so traders treat it as a zone with a top and a bottom. This guide explains why order blocks form, the difference between bullish and bearish order blocks, how to identify and confirm them on a chart, how they compare with similar concepts, how traders build strategies around them, and whether they are effective in practice.

Stop Loss: What It Is, How It Works and How to Set One
A stop loss is an order that closes an open trade automatically at a price you set in advance to limit losses. On a long position (a buy trade that gains when price rises) the stop loss sits below the entry price, and on a short position (a sell trade that gains when price falls) it sits above it. For forex and CFD traders—especially intermediate to advanced retail traders using MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5—a stop loss is a core risk-management tool in leveraged markets, because it helps protect capital, supports position sizing, and reduces emotional exit decisions when prices move fast. This guide explains what stop losses are, how they work, the main order types, how to set and place them, their risks and limitations, common mistakes, and answers to frequently asked questions. A stop loss does not remove risk, and slippage can mean the final exit price differs from the trigger price, but it helps limit losses and manage risk before the trade starts, particularly when using leverage.

Average True Range (ATR) Indicator: Formula, How to Read It, and How to Use It
The Average True Range (ATR) is a volatility indicator that averages the true range of price over a specified period, 14 by default, to show how much an asset typically moves within that window, regardless of price direction. J. Welles Wilder Jr. published it in New Concepts in Technical Trading Systems in 1978, originally for commodity markets, because a plain high-minus-low range misses the movement created when the underlying market gaps. ATR is reported in price units, not percent. A 250 dollar stock with an ATR of 6.00 and a 25 dollar stock with an ATR of 2.40 can be equally volatile, because the numbers scale with the asset's price. Reading a single ATR value without that context is the most common error the indicator invites.
