3 Top Price Predictions: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple – Major support levels contain recent sell-off as BTC, ETH and XRP recover

  • $81,800 is back below Bitcoin’s price on Friday. The modest rebound follows support near the 50-day EMA at $80,878.
  • $2,365 marks support for Ethereum around the 100-day EMA, helping the cryptocurrency stabilise following recent selling pressure.
  • $1.30 remains intact as horizontal support for XRP, which is approaching that level while trading near $1.32 on Friday.

The 50-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) continues to support BTC. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Ripple (XRP) are staging modest rebounds on Friday, following Thursday’s correction and test of their key support zone. ETH is finding support near the 100-day EMA, while XRP remains above its horizontal floor around $1.300. For these top three cryptocurrencies, the price action points to a recovery if this critical support zone stays intact. A decisive close beneath these levels would instead signal a deeper correction.

50-day EMA provides Bitcoin support

At $81,856 on Friday, Bitcoin remains above its short- and medium-term Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). This leaves the near-term outlook mildly bullish despite recent consolidation. Below the market, the 50-day EMA stands at $80,878, the 100-day EMA at $77,528 and the 200-day EMA at $76,186. Together, they indicate a constructive underlying trend, although the Relative Strength Index (RSI) near 47 is broadly neutral. With the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) still slightly negative, upward momentum has yet to become fully convincing.

The first resistance lies at the horizontal level near $85,000. Previous supply in this area could limit further gains.

The 50-day EMA at $80,878 offers the nearest support. Below it, more substantial structural demand sits around the 100-day EMA at $77,528 and the 200-day EMA at $76,186. Buyers would be expected to return at these levels during a broader pullback within the prevailing uptrend.

$2,400 area anchors Ethereum stabilisation

At $2,409 on Friday, Ethereum retains a constructive near-term outlook. Its position above the 100-day and 200-day EMAs supports the broader uptrend. Following a retreat from late-February highs, ETH is now settling just above nearby horizontal support around $2,400.

With the RSI around 41 and the MACD remaining negative, momentum is muted. Any upward progress may therefore be gradual while the market absorbs earlier gains.

The 50-day EMA near $2,475 presents the immediate upside hurdle. A decisive daily close above it would clear a path towards the next major resistance, the horizontal level around $2,770.

Demand first emerges around $2,400. A more significant support cluster lies below, where the reclaimed trendline region and the 100-day and 200-day EMAs converge between roughly $2,365 and $2,316. A break below this zone would undermine the bullish structure, leaving scope for further losses towards horizontal support at $1,823.

$1.300 horizontal support holds for XRP

At $1.320 on Friday, XRP retains a bearish near-term outlook. The price remains below the 100-day, 50-day and 200-day EMAs, which cluster between roughly $1.336 and $1.373.

The broader downtrend therefore continues to constrain rallies. An RSI reading of 42 places momentum in mildly negative territory, while the MACD remains just below zero. These indicators suggest selling pressure persists, even though the recent sell-off has eased.

The first upside obstacle is the 100-day EMA near $1.336. Beyond that, the 50-day EMA at $1.371 and the 200-day EMA at $1.373 form a concentrated resistance zone. Stronger horizontal barriers follow at $1.540 and then $1.900.

Horizontal support around $1.300 is the immediate downside level to watch. A daily close beneath it would likely pave the way for a deeper retreat. Conversely, easing the current bearish outlook would require a sustained recovery above the EMA cluster.

Cryptocurrency prices: frequently asked questions

By shaping demand and adoption among market participants, token launches can influence cryptocurrency prices. Exchange listings increase an asset’s liquidity and bring additional participants into its network. The effect is generally bullish for the digital asset.

In a hack, an attacker uses exploits, bugs or other methods to seize a large quantity of an asset from a DeFi bridge, an exchange’s hot wallet or another crypto platform. The attacker subsequently moves the tokens off exchange platforms, ultimately selling them or exchanging them for other cryptocurrencies or stablecoins. Widespread panic often follows such incidents, triggering a sell-off in the affected assets.

The direct effect on the US Dollar is the main channel through which macroeconomic events, including interest-rate decisions by the US Federal Reserve, influence crypto assets. Higher interest rates generally weigh on Bitcoin and altcoin prices; lower rates typically have the opposite effect. A decline in the US Dollar index makes risk assets and the leverage used to trade them cheaper, which in turn pushes cryptocurrency prices higher.

By cutting miners’ block rewards in half, halvings restrict an asset’s supply and are generally viewed as bullish events. When demand stays constant, a reduction in supply lifts the asset’s price.
